On May 18th and 19th, the Aachen Machine Tool Colloquium AWK will take place for the 29th time at the Eurogress Aachen. This year the guiding theme is “Internet of Production for agile enterprises”. As key part of the Industrie 4.0 the “Internet of Production” describes the real-time capable and secure availability of information at any time and any place. Continuous data analytics creates transparency as well as pattern recognition, thus enabling a certain forecasting ability to support decisions on the way to a controlled production.
This year, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) deliver technical and keynote lectures as well as plenary speeches with speakers from industry and science. In addition, renowned companies from the European economy will be present in the accompanying industrial exhibition. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the institute landscape consisting of clusters, laboratories and consumption systems at the RWTH campus to gain insights into research and progress of the theme of “Internet of Production”.
