Congress to additive manufacturing process in Aachen

Almost anything can be produced with a 3D printer e.g. prototypes, spare parts, cars and even entire houses. An enormous technical and economic potential is seen in the 3D printing and other additive fabrication methods, especially when it comes to the production of individual items or small and micro series. At the same time the technological development is still at an early stage. At the 3D Valley Conference in Aachen on the 14th and 15th of September 2016, experts from various fields will deal with the possbilites  of innovative technologies and what is already possible nowadays.

The focus of the agenda is not only to set on the pure lecture program, but also on excursions into practice and an accompanying exhibition. In the recent past, Aachen has established itself as a stronghold for research and development in the field of additive manufacturing processes. This center of knowledge is also home to ACAM GmbH, the "Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing", which provides an important link between science and industry in this area. The initiators and organizers of this event are the ACAM GmbH, together with the steel institute VDEh and TEMA Technologie Marketing AG, a marketing agency in Aachen.

"All relevant resources that are important for additive manufacturing are combined at the region in and around Aachen. There are institutions which focus on software development, others address the development of materials and equipment and others deal with the development of new business models. So much expert knowledge in one place is unique worldwide. The 3D Valley Conference will make this knowledge accessible to regional and international guests. We are looking forward to the application of many experts, "said Dr.-Ing. Johannes Witzel, one of the two managing directors of ACAM GmbH.

Overall, the initiators expect around 100 experts from Germany and other countries for the two-day conference, which will take place on the premises of TEMA Technologie Marketing AG.
