On 19 November, the world's leading trade fair for additive manufacturing "Formnext 2019" opened its doors at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. Until 22 November, international experts in 3D printing met in Frankfurt am Main to exchange information. More than 852 exhibitors from more than 32 nations presented new products for all additive manufacturing processes. At the joint stand of the "Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing" (ACAM), KEX Knowledge Exchange AG presented, among other things, the "Additive Manufacturing" Knowledge Area, the first knowledge area of the KEX.net innovation platform. Here, the two partners provide the collective expertise and consulting competence in the field of additive manufacturing.

In addition to daily news from the world of 3D printing, the platform offers an extensive collection of information on technologies and applications, as well as overviews of current events and patents in the field of additive manufacturing. The information is collected by independent experts from ACAM's KEX AG and evaluated with regard to its technological and economic potential. The user thus receives efficient monitoring of current trends and developments in applications, plants and materials.

Recently, the "Additive Manufacturing" Knowledge Area has been equipped with a dashboard that provides registered users with an overview of current news. Each week, the editorial team highlights one application, one technology and one material. In the "News of the Week", a current technical development or a newly launched application is explained in more detail.

In general, the information is presented in the "Technology Landscape". It is based on the categories of the US ASTM and covers the entire spectrum of materials and machines for 3D printing. KEX AG combines research, market and user knowledge on the platform.
