On 20th of October, 2016 the consortium study of KEX AG concluded on the subjects ‘Industry 4.0’ und ‘IoT’ in Aachen after 12 successful months. More than 40 participants of renowned international companies of the most different industries, as for example 3M, ThyssenKrupp, Daimler and Vorwerk, were part of the study.
The aim of the study was to achieve economic and technological transparency, as well as the identification of future trends and developments of application possibilities of smart products, production and services. Part of the expert team were, inter alia, the Fraunhofer Institute of Production Technology IPT, the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering WZL and the Demonstration Factory of Aachen.
During the workshop sessions the detailed study results were presented and discussed on the basis of the business cases chosen by the consortium. With a networking event the day before the consortium was able to network and exchange with more than 15 other companies of the second round of the consortium study.
On account of the positive resonance and the successful results, KEX AG now plans the third consortial project on the subject "Facing the Smart Future: Smart Products, Production and Services" for 2017.
