Call for Partners - Consortium Study "Facing the Smart Future: Smart Cities & Infrastructure"

Terms like »Internet of Things«, »Smart Infrastructure«, »Smart City« or »Smart Mobility« are just examples for the diversity of buzzwords that are used. But what do these buzzwords mean for your company or your city, particularly regarding your product portfolio or offered services?

Ongoing digitalization, connectivity and advanced data analytics are mega trends and in combination one of the major drivers for the smart future. What will be the lead
applications driven by smart technologies in particular segments? Which markets and applications will be the next to profit from – and potentially be disrupted by – innovative smart products and smart systems? Companies often face the challenge to deduce the relevant approach in the are of smart cities and infrastructure.

In order to answer this questions, KEX Knowledge Exchange AG and FIR at RWTH Aachen start the focussed project »Facing the Smart Future: Smart Cities & Infrastructure« on the 3rd of November 2016. Members of our expert network are the Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components at RWTH (PEM), Chair and Institute of Urban and Transportation Planning (ISB) and the Center for Flexible Electrial Networks (FEN) with 15 institues of RWTH Aachen University e.g. E.ON ERC.

More than 40 leading companies from different industries e.g. T-Systems, Brose, Hilti or Osram are participating in previous "Smart Future - Industrie 4.0" projects conducted by KEX AG. Due to a frequent demand and the request for a dedicated project regarding smart cities and their infrastructure the start of the new project is scheduled. In cooperation with the most relevant players of the whole value creation chain, the consortium study aspires to create economic and technological transparency and to explore and analyze market and technology trends as well as possibly game-changing business model shifts.

You as a consortium partner will be able to influence and direct the progress of the study through regular participation in meetings and workshops. Furthermore, the consortium will get exclusive access to all independent study results as well as to our expert network from research and industry.

Based on initial expert and partner discussions we have defined these top level fields of further investigation: Smart Mobility & Transportation, Smart Infrastructure & Buildings, Smart Living & Work, Smart Governance and Smart Environment & Utilities.

Join the consortium now and register until the end of august!
